Travis Penfield

Travis has always possessed an entrepreneurial spirit—an instinct that has shaped both his career trajectory and personal philosophy. A graduate of Texas A&M University, where he earned a Finance degree from the Mays Business School and graduated Magna Cum Laude, Travis initially pursued what he describes as the “safe route” by beginning his career at Deloitte. However, a personal twist in his post-college journey—and an innate drive for something more—soon led him toward a different path.

Choosing to leave behind a predictable corporate career, Travis embraced the uncertainties of entrepreneurship. This decision reflects his deep belief in the transformative power of one’s twenties. In October 2019, he put this belief into action by stepping away from his role as an Executive Vice President at a financial planning firm to launch his own venture: 49 Financial.

Dean Dillenberg

Growing up in the Los Angeles area, Dean watched his father build a mortgage business from the ground up. The financial crisis of 2008 and then witnessing the tough years that followed through the eyes of his father’s business and clients motivated him to enter a career in financial planning. The lessons learned from his parents during that time were some of the most inspiring and formative of his life. These lessons instilled a desire to help other families utilize their wealth and minimize the impact of negative circumstances.

Dean began his career at 49 Financial’s Austin, Texas office and, after years of leadership there, was given the opportunity to launch 49’s first West Coast office in Los Angeles. Throughout his years at 49, Dean has enjoyed serving personal clients across the country and mentoring a team of advisors and leaders.
